Purchases made using the card at supermarkets (not including warehouse clubs), gas stations and drug stores earn a 6 percent rebate for the first 12 months, and then 3 percent afterwards. All other purchases bring in a 1 percent rebate.

Should You Apply for One?
|
If you just don't know what kind of car you might want in a few years, the Driver's Edge card's almost complete flexibility — points can be used for new or used vehicles from any automaker — makes it valuable. But if you use your card a lot, you can all too quickly reach the $1,000 annual cap on rebates, which makes it so that any further spending won't earn you any points.
