Airfares to and from Europe are not included in the Mercedes-Benz european delivery program, but the company often arranges special fares with major carriers. From arrival in Stuttgart, the company provides transport to the Sindelfingen factory and pays for a night at a hotel nearby.

The program offers 7 percent off the MSRP of the specific C-Class, CLK-Class, CLS-Class, E-Class, SLK-Class and SL-Class models available under the program. Some are available for European pick-up on three-weeks notice.

Beyond the standard free-hotel-near-the-factory-for-one-night option, Mercedes-Benz offers a Black Forest-Alps Rally Package which adds on four more nights for $1,300 per couple. It is a self-guided drive on a route from the factory into the Black Forest and on through the Austrian Alps, over the Arlberg Pass to Innsbruck and on to Munich. The detailed itinerary is goof-proof.

Owners spend their first night on the road at the exclusive Schlosshotel Bühlerhöhe in the lush woods above Baden-Baden. The next day, it’s off to the Parkhotel Adler in Hinterzarten some 100 miles away. Drive time is about three hours but there are hot springs, castles and other attractions along the route.

Things get interesting on the third day, as there are two routes into Austria. One ends at the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol, above Inntal Valley, a short drive from Innsbruck. The other route has travelers tucking in at the Hotel Zur Tenne in the heart of the Tyrolean Alps.

The tour ends near Munich with a final night at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof. Owners can continue to travel independently, or hand their keys to the reception desk and fly home. For those who want to continue traveling, there are drop-off points throughout Europe and England.
