The 10 Best and Worst Cars For City Driving

by BENGT HALVORSON, Associated Press
Infiniti QX56

Turning Radius: 20.5 feet
Length: 206.7 inches
Width: 78.8 inches
City Snags: High roof makes it difficult to fit into low garages; impaired visibility; ingress and egress can be challenging

This is a massive truck that is deceptively posh and commodious on the inside; it has a beautiful dash and interior that takes cues from high-end audio systems and business jets.  However, it is barely manageable on city streets.  The Infiniti’s width is what gets you when it comes time to park or turn around the 17-plus-foot length of this vehicle. The high seating position affords a great view of the traffic ahead but combined with its high beltline and looming height, it’s still hard to see low vehicles beside and behind.  Be sure to get the optional $1,100 rearview monitor. You’re going to need it.
