4. Bentley Mark IV

Starred in:

From Russia with Love (1963, Sean Connery) — $190.7 million*

The only real action involving this convertible takes place in the backseat. It’s seen only briefly at the start of the film, during Bond’s interrupted picnic with love-interest Sylvia Trench (played by Eunice Gayson). But a glance is enough for the classic beauty to make a strong impression. With its long, curvaceous fenders — or “wings,” if you’re British — the Bentley Mark IV is stunning.

Unlike most other famous Bond cars, this one never gets to see any driving action nor display any Q wizardry. Its only cool gadget is a car phone, an impressive rarity for 1963.

Bond’s drive time in this film is mostly limited to him getting chauffeured around in a Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith and a Ford Fairlane.

The Gadgets:

• A car phone (years ahead of its time)

Did You Know

• Sylvia Trench is in the first two Bond films (Dr. No and From Russia with Love), giving actress Eunice Gayson the distinction of being the only Bond girl to appear twice in the same role. The character was initially intended to continue popping up in the film series as a running joke, with Bond repeatedly getting called away from their romantic interludes. But the idea was abandoned after the second film.

• Besides the Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith and Ford Fairlane, a Citroen Traction Avant also appears in the film.
