According to the latest Highway Loss Data Institute figures, the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Convertible ranked as the ninth most commonly stolen luxury vehicle in the U.S. Like its counterpart, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the SL is equipped with several airbags to reduce the risk of injury in an accident. All SLs include head- and torso-protecting side airbags as well as a driver knee airbag.

Other accessories that make this vehicle a hot commodity include optional 19-inch wheels, Xenon headlamps, massaging multicontour seats and aluminum trim. Standard features include wood trim, a navigation system,leather upholstery, heated seats, a six-disc CD changer and a universal garage-door opener.

To help deter theft, the SL-Class Convertible comes equipped with a theft-deterrent system and remote keyless entry.
