When equipped with the available stability control system, antilock brakes and side-curtain airbags, the mechanically similar Chrysler 300C and Dodge Charger rank as two of the safest vehicles. The sturdy, capable and — when so equipped — luxurious sedans inherited some input for this design from Chrysler’s corporate cousin, Mercedes-Benz. They handle and ride well, and although you don’t need all the extra punch of the Hemi V8, it sure is fun. Public servants are onto our trail, though; there’s a police edition coming out later this year.
