The A-Team barreled into American living rooms with its brand of testosterone-fueled fun in January 1983. Hannibal (George Peppard), B.A (Mr. T)., Face (Dirk Benedict) and Murdock (Dwight Schultz) are vigilantes for hire, trading smart-aleck comments as they set off explosions and trounce assorted bullies. These ex-special forces soldiers come to the rescue of those in need while trying to evade the military police.

The A-Team needs a vehicle roomy enough to accommodate all their gear. So B.A. (short for "Bad Attitude") drives his souped-up van, a GMC G-Series. Don't picture a soccer-mom sort of ride, though. Far from it, this van is big, burly and black, exuding as much machismo as the men in it. The van takes a lot of punishment throughout the series, everything from gunfire to getting plunged into a river. But B.A., an ace mechanic, always manages to do a miraculous repair job.

The van has some special modifications, including a rear wing, quad headlights, a front brush bar and armor plating. The interior features white bucket seats, shag carpeting and a gun rack. But custom painting contributes the most to its distinctive appearance — black and gray with a red stripe on both sides.

B.A., who loves children, hates flying and pities fools, stands out with a unique look as well. And this show helped make a pop culture phenomenon of Mr. T, the actor who played the role. With his mass of gold chains and a modified mohawk, he became the poster child of a show embodying masculinity.
