The Test Drive series has been around since 1987. This latest incarnation, Test Drive Unlimited, is set in Oahu, Hawaii.

Even among the slew of exotic cars — McLarens, Shelby Cobras and our ForbesAutos.com choice, the gorgeous 2006 Spyker C8 Laviolette coupe, just to name a few — a reviewer for the Los Angeles Times wrote "the real star of this title is the land where you race."

The scenery-and-topography-attuned reviewer further raved: "Using the zoom functions to purchase new cars is reminiscent of Google Earth."

That said, please don't conclude that the game's all about lava and coconuts. In addition to motoring in a virtual version of the Laviolette, gamers can accumulate prize money and use that to further their luxury lifestyle, adding new clothes, a new residence and the like. Although, if you ask us, who needs any other goods if you've already got the Spyker coupe with the 400-hp V8 engine, the propeller-themed wheels, the shiny aluminum fascia and that fantastic triceratops-horn-looking thing on the roof.
