Today, the hybrid universe includes two hatchbacks, two sedans, four SUVs and a pair of mild-hybrid pickups. Two of the SUVs aim at the luxury market, and one sedan is positioned as a higher-performance variant of its conventionally powered cousin. While all offer enhanced environmental performance, it's clear that hybrids have transcended the economy-vehicle image that emerged with the first few hybrid models just a few years ago. This trend will continue as gasoline/electric technology makes its way to a wider range of vehicles in the years ahead. In the meantime, here is what's on the market today.
