Three Tons of Fun

Maybach sharpens its massive luxury cruiser for those who like to drive a little, rather than just be chauffeured around.

Interior

To go with the limited exterior color choice, the 57 S' interior is available in two unique colors, either Vesuvius Black or Aspen White leather; it’s found on the seats, dashboard, console armrests and door panels.

Carbon-fiber and piano black lacquer interior trim replaces the 100 pieces of handcrafted wood found in the other models. An anthracite-stained poplar wood trim is optional on the S.

Instruments are projected on a black screen that activates when the car is unlocked. A central display in the gauge cluster registers numerous functions that are controlled via buttons on the steering wheel; the interface is intuitive and easy to use.

Front seats seem infinitely adjustable with inflatable support and a massage feature. The length difference between the 57 and 62 models is mainly in the rear seating area. There is still ample room in the two individual rear seats of the 57 S, which are also power adjustable.

For those owners who will occasionally be driven, there is a set of gauges in the rear roof area by which they can monitor the driver’s progress. A myriad of other interior features include a power rear window curtain for shade or privacy, a refrigerated compartment, champagne flutes with special holders in the rear console and screens for the DVD player in the front seat backs.

In addition to the mandatory airbags up front, all passengers are protected by side airbags in the seats and curtain airbags for the head. That's a total of 10 airbags on the car.
