Cadillac revamps one of its most important models with more refined looks inside and out.

GM pulled the wraps off a redesigned 2008 version of its CTS sport sedan at the 2007 Detroit auto show on a stage nearly filled to capacity with the vehicle’s entire design and engineering teams. The goal was to emphasize that a high level of attention has been paid to the smallest details.
The
current CTS had been widely criticized for its interior materials, so the most dramatic changes take place inside the car. A lighter-toned theme inside emphasizes metallic finishes, chrome accents and a handcrafted look, with seat stitching modeled after high-end leather goods to match what Cadillac calls a “sharply tailored exterior.”
The new Cadillac CTS gets direct injection on its 3.6-liter V6 engine, bumping output to 300 hp. Buyers will have a choice of a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
Styling is an evolution of the angular look the first-generation CTS pioneered for Cadillac. The front grille is larger and some of the car's surfaces, such as the sides, seem softer and more sculpted.
