Introduced last year and continuing for 2007 with only minor updates, Audi?s compact A3 hatchback is a sportier alternative to a small wagon or SUV. This is a front-wheel-drive model that can be optioned with all-wheel drive. As with all Audis, multiple engine and transmission choices are available. The A3 offers high levels of luxury and comfort in a small package. It sacrifices nothing in sophistication or performance and is equally adept at cruising on the highway as it is winding through back roads. Further adding to its appeal, the Audi A3 is a versatile, practical car with a surprising amount of space for a young couple with kids and cargo. But fuel economy isn?t great for its size, and Audi is still working on reliability issues with all of its models.
