Available in rear- and all-wheel-drive versions, Cadillac's luxurious full-size Escalade SUV is redesigned for a mid-2006 intro as an early 2007 model. It rides on a stronger and stiffer chassis that affords added sophistication, comfort and performance. A new 6.2-liter V8 engine delivers 403 hp and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that allows manual gear selection. A slightly lower center of gravity as well as revised steering and suspension systems improve handling while maintaining a smooth ride. Styling is further over-the-top, though the interior design is a notable upgrade.
