Ford's mammoth, full-size SUV is redesigned for 2007 and an even larger model, the extended-length Expedition EL, has been added. While it rides on a new chassis with revised suspension, steering and braking systems, the prior model's 300-hp 5.4-liter V8 engine carries over. A new six-speed automatic is the only transmission available. With a tow rating of up to 9,100 pounds, it's a good choice for heavy-duty applications. Stability control with rollover mitigation is among its myriad safety features.
