The front-drive Honda Accord Hybrid teams its 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine with an electric motor. It actually outperforms its conventionally powered V6 counterpart and also gets better fuel economy. The hybrid system works flawlessly and doesn't impinge on the driving experience. The Accord Hybrid opulently equipped, but it carries a $3,500 price premium over a comparably equipped, conventional Accord. That means few people will earn back in gas savings the extra amount they paid up front for the hybrid technology, and that has turned off many potential buyers.
The gas/electric Honda Accord Hybrid is a technological wonder, but it's being largely ignored by car buyers.
