The Maserati GranSport Spyder two-seat convertible comes wrapped in seductively curvaceous styling, courtesy of Italy's Italdesign-Giugiaro studio, and affords exotic-car performance at a (relatively) affordable price, considering some of the competition. Recent updates include an optional Contemporary Classic trim and equipment package, which includes special aluminum wheels and a unique interior treatment. The GranSport Spyder comes powered by a Maserati-built, 4.2-liter V8 engine that generates a lusty 400 hp. Though purists might favor a conventional stick shift, the only transmission offered is a clutchless, six-speed "Cambiocorsa" transmission that can be manually shifted via paddles mounted on the steering wheel. A "Skyhook" suspension control system that is shared with corporate cousin Ferrari is available on the Spyder. It adjusts its damping automatically according to varying driving and road-surface conditions.
The already dressy Maserati GranSport Spyder convertible can be dressed up even more, with options and/or customized trim and equipment.
