To help boost sales, Acura's flagship sedan comes in a base version that makes optional a number of features that were formerly standard. The base model lowers the starting sticker price by about $3,500. The navigation system, active headlamps and real wood trim are now included in an optional Technology Package. The car was completely redesigned for 2005 as a larger and more luxurious vehicle, coming with the automaker's advanced Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive System and a long list of amenities. Its 3.5-liter V6 engine is more than adequate for what it is, but the RL still lacks a V8-powered model or rear-wheel drive.
