The Ferrari F430 Spider is the latest in a long line of two-seat, race car-inspired roadsters from the Italian automaker. Riding on an updated chassis derived from its predecessor, the 360 Modena, the F430 is powered by a V8 engine that can take the car to 60 mph in around 4 seconds. A six-speed manual transmission is standard. A six-speed automatic transmission that can be shifted manually is optional. As is Ferrari's tradition, the F430 Spider comes wrapped in stunningly aerodynamic styling, and it can hug the curves like few other cars on the road. High-tech features include the E-Diff electronically controlled limited-slip differential and a steering wheel-mounted interface (called "manettino" in Italian) that is used to tailor the F430 Spider's various integrated systems, such as suspension settings, traction control and transmission speed. The Ferrari F430 Spider's interior is snug, but once you shoehorn yourself into it, it fits like high-quality Italian footwear.
