The Lexus IS 250 is the brand's entry-level model in the hotly contested compact luxury sedan market. The IS 250 has a just-adequate V6 engine that barely tops 200 horsepower. The engine can be mated to a standard six-speed manual transmission, or an optional sequential-shift six-speed automatic gearbox that can be shifted manually, using steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. All-wheel drive is optional. The car comes with a high level of standard equipment, and myriad high-tech options are offered. An X Package of trim and equipment for a more-aggressive look and added cornering abilities is available.
