Like its closed-roof counterpart, it was developed jointly with McLaren, Mercedes' Formula One racing partner. Its 5.5-liter supercharged V8 engine produces more than 600 horsepower and enables it to reach 60 miles per hour in less than four seconds. Its lightweight carbon fiber shell, aluminum frame, and race suspension deliver incredible handling and cornering abilities. The cars are hand-built in small numbers at McLaren's Formula One factory in Woking, England. All of these top-tier attributes come at a steep price: expect to pony up nearly a half-million dollars to acquire an SLR McLaren Roadster.
