The Saab 9-3 SportCombi is a quick and nimble station wagon. In terms of sportiness, it falls somewhere between the Audi A4 Avant (less sporty than the Saab) and the BMW 3 Series Wagon (more sporty). The 9-3 SportCombi shares platforms with the Chevrolet Malibu, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura, but the Saab carries distinctive styling and many unique components. A peppy, 2.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is standard. A stronger, 2.8-liter turbocharged V6 is included with the sportier Aero version. The 9-3 SportCombi offers many safety features and retains classic Saab touches, including placing the ignition key between the front seats, but it's not as quirky as Saabs used to be.
Restyled for 2008, the Saab 9-3 SportCombi station wagon is an unconventional yet practical alternative to conformist sedans and SUVs.
