Vehicle Summary: 2008 Dodge Magnum

The racy Dodge Magnum is hardly the old family station wagon. The SRT8 model comes powered by a truly fast Hemi V8 engine, a design with roots in the 1960s. The base Magnum SE model offers a V6 engine and a four-speed automatic transmission. The Magnum SXT comes with a stronger, 3.5-liter V6. The Magnum R/T includes a somewhat smaller Hemi V8 engine than the SRT8, but is still powerful enough for all but the most hardcore enthusiasts. The Magnum R/T engine includes the company's Multi-Displacement System, which deactivates half the cylinders under low to moderate throttle to save fuel. Other than the base model, all versions include a smoother-shifting, five-speed automatic gearbox.
