The five-passenger Hummer H3 SUV displays the brand's classic rugged military styling on a smaller scale. Power comes from an adequate 3.7-liter five-cylinder engine or, in the H3 Alpha model, a 5.3-liter V8. The H3 X model is intended to look customized, with exclusive exterior colors and extras like chrome door handles and an angular, hard-shell spare-tire cover. Under the skin, the H3 is related to GM's midsize pickups, the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. The H3 is the smallest and most agile Hummer in the line. It can scramble over virtually anything in its path, with two available four-wheel-drive systems. The H3 is the only Hummer to offer a manual transmission (but only with the five-cylinder engine).
The burly Hummer H3 SUV comes in a more powerful V8-powered Alpha version for 2008.
