Vehicle Summary: 2008 Mercedes-Benz R-Class

The stylish R-Class is a cross between a wagon and an SUV, which Mercedes-Benz calls a "sports tourer." It seats six with standard equipment, and can be fitted with a bench seat for seven-passenger capability. It comes in two variants: The R350 uses a traditional gasoline engine, and the R320 CDI employs a turbodiesel engine with less horsepower but plenty of torque. All-wheel drive is standard on the diesel, and optional on the gas version. The R-Class rides more like a car rather than a lumbering SUV. It's well equipped with an array of comfort and convenience options available.
