The Subaru Outback Wagon is a more rugged rendition of the automaker's Legacy Wagon. It has SUV-like styling and more ground clearance than the rest of the Legacy lineup to give the car a more outdoorsy appearance. The Outback Wagon comes in three versions: The base model is powered by a peppy, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers adequate acceleration; the 2.5XT Limited Wagon packs a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine; and the top 3.0R L.L. Bean Edition Wagon offers a smoother, 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine. The turbocharged engine and the six-cylinder both produce about 40 percent more muscle than the base engine.
