Vehicle Summary: 2008 Volvo V50
The Volvo V50 is the wagon version of Volvo's smallest sedan, the S40. For the extra $2,400 or so in price, it offers a versatile cargo hold. Like the S40 sedan, it can be ordered with front- or all-wheel-drive and offers a choice of two five-cylinder engines, one turbocharged for quick acceleration. The V50 is stylish in a Scandinavian way, costs less than competing German premium wagons, and has lots of standard safety equipment.

A Spry and Safe Small Wagon
The Volvo V50 isn't quite as sporty as the BMW 3 Series Wagon, but it's nimble, stylish, safe, and considerably cheaper.

- Exterior updates include a new grille, front fascia, lower air intakes, headlamps, and taillights. Gekko Green and Chameleon Blue are new exterior colors
- Interior updates include new air vents, expanded front-door storage pockets and a redesigned center console (with a larger storage space), armrest and handbrake lever
- An Automatic Hazard Warning system and a tire pressure monitor are newly standard
