As if to prove that the new breed of car-based SUVs, called "crossovers," really are as popular as auto marketers say, the X5 made our list for a second consecutive quarter. Though it's hard to tell by looking at it, BMW redesigned its midsize SUV for 2007 and made it larger inside and out.
